Man O' War Pinque Rosé 2026 is a dry, pale salmon rosé from Waiheke Island, made by Man O' War from Syrah, Merlot and Malbec. It shows wild strawberry, watermelon rind and a hint of sea spray. This is a lovely wine for anyone who likes dry, savoury rosés with real coastal freshness.
In the glass it shows a pale salmon colour, with rose petal, crushed garden herbs and juicy white peach.
This is a wine for those of us who enjoy a dry rosé with a savoury edge. This wine would pair well with grilled prawns, fresh seafood and light salads.
What it tastes like
This wine has red berries and citrus blossom on a crisp, dry palate. It finishes clean and saline, and Man O' War describes it as unmistakably coastal.

Who makes it
Man O' War planted its first vines on Waiheke Island in 1993 and now farms about 60 hectares across Waiheke and neighbouring Ponui Island. One Ponui vineyard can only be harvested when the tides are high enough to get the grapes onto a barge.
For the 2026 vintage, the grapes were hand-picked from cooler, coastal vineyard blocks and Champagne pressed, a gentle method that keeps skin contact minimal and locks in the pale salmon colour. The wine was then fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve freshness and aromatics.
When to drink it
It drinks well now. Man O' War makes it for immediate enjoyment rather than extended cellaring.
